PEAC Superstar Bryson Cianfrone verbally commits to Michigan

Bob Miller at The Wolverine is reporting that Ontario super recruit Bryson Cianfrone has verbally committed to Michigan, most likely for 2013.

Miller said Cianfrone was seen as a lock for the first round of this past weekend’s OHL Draft but fell to the third round where he was picked up by Brampton. Bryson is listed anywhere from 5’8 to 5’10 and 155-165 pounds. Not big on size, but big on talent.


The OHL Draft Guide gave their scouting report on Cianfrone:

Scouting Report: Cianfrone is a smart, smaller and skilled center who plays a pretty effective two way game while producing offensively at a consistent level.

He is an excellent skater, displaying speed and quickness. Most importantly, he tends to keep his feet moving at all times, preferring to and showing the ability to play the game at a high speed.

He plays a pretty intelligent game, using his speed and quickness to support the play, getting himself around the puck all times. He also has very good hands, showing the ability to handle the puck and makes plays.

Bryson’s leadership qualities are evident both on and off the ice. He was named Captain of the Minor Midget Toronto

Marlboros and given his list of achievements, he is well-suited for that position. Bryson was a member of the champion

Toronto Titans at the International MM Prospect Tournament, was selected to the U-16, 2010 GTHL All-Star team, was selected tournament All-Star at the 2010 Silver Stick, won both the MVP MacPherson award and the Most Sportsmanlike award at the St. Andrews tournament, also in 2010. He was also the Captain of the Marlboros Bantam ‘AAA’ team. Bryson was also named Athlete of the Year at his school in 2008 and will graduate in 2012. His other interests include football where in 2009 and 2008, he was MVP and Quarterback of the champions in National Flag Football.
